365 Days of Belle

Miss Belle is growing like crazy. We weighed her tonight and she is somewhere between 23-24 lbs. at 10 weeks! She is sweet and smart but can be a bit stubborn. She comes when we call her name and can sit and shake on command…as long as she feels like it. ;) She still freaks out about riding in the car. Not sure what that’s about but we’re working on it. She gives and gets lots of love around here and is so excited every time one of us walks in the door. <3

To make up for missing a couple days this week, I just had to post this picture I got of Belle winking and, I think, smiling…haha!  We were looking through the pictures of Belle’s first snowy day; and, when we saw this, we couldn’t stop laughing.

We’ve been busy the past few days; but my goal is to update at least once a week…so I guess I’m not doing too bad. :)  It almost seems that Belle’s growth is noticeable by the day!  We can’t believe it!  She is still pretty laid back; but she has her moments of biting, chewing, growling craziness. She is starting to sit on command; but we are still having trouble getting her to respond to her name.  We can’t decide if that’s because she REALLY doesn’t know…or she’s just too stubborn to look because it wasn’t her idea.  She fits right in with this family! ;)  

We had some visitors yesterday, and Belle thought they were pretty fantastic! Thanks, Jake and Caleb, for coming to show Belle some love!

Belle loves snow!  At first, it made her sneeze; but then, she realized she just wanted to bury her head in it and eat it all.  She was pretty hilarious!  It eased the pain of snow and cold weather for me today!  Can’t believe it was close to 60 degrees just yesterday!

Belle had her first walk around the block tonight. We had to get out and enjoy the beautiful, unseasonably warm weather. She wasn’t sure what to think at first, never having walked on the street before…or a leash; but she was pretty happy about it within just a couple of minutes. Can’t wait to see what she thinks about the snow they’re forecasting for tomorrow. :)

So I tried to post a video last night…but had technical difficulties. :)  Sooo…I’ll have to work on that.  I can’t believe how much Belle has grown and changed in only 10 days!!  Here are some pictures from her first 24 hours at home that I didn’t post before.  You can see how fast she is growing…too fast!

WHAT is this frosty stuff I see on the grass this morning, and where did my spring weather go? Well…let’s play anyway… :)

Belle is loving these warm winter days outside…so am I!

Belle & I had so much fun playing in the yard this morning before work! It was hard to leave! Ooh, for the first time, she went down the two steps to go outside today! Yay, Belle!

Well…our little Belle had her first vet visit tonight…and weighed in at 16 lbs.  We’re estimating that she’s gained about 3 lbs. in the last 6 days.  She should gain 3-4 lbs. each week until she is 6 months old!  Silly girl slept through her vaccination. :)  She’ll see the vet again in 3 weeks for her next round.  She seems anxious when she rides in the car…not quite sure what to think about that yet; so we may have to make a point of doing that more often so she’ll get used to it.
